If you have recently upgraded to Windows 10, you may have encountered the following issue/error message trying to send an email :
Sending reported error (0x800CCC13): ‘Cannot connect to the network. Verify your network connection or modem’.
You are probably able to receive email without any problem though, the described behaviour is only encountered with sending emails. In my particular case, the issue happened from Windows 8.1 to 10 upgrade with Office 2013.
It appear that the upgrade caused some corruption at system level. To resolve this matter, run the “sfc /scannow” command as administrator.
1. Close all your programs and temporarily disable your anti-virus resident protection.
2. Open the command prompt with admin privilege level (use the following keyboard shortcut) :
Windows key + X
3. Enter the following command :
sfc /scannow
4. Wait for full completion of that process and once done, reboot immediately.
After the reboot, Outlook should be able to send email again.
